Hi All,
Planning to ADFS 3.0 to ADFS 4.0 with inplace upgrade , can we replace the old IP address to new server
Hi,
ADFS works on host name, so changing IP will not impact the upgrade or any function.
Thanks Sathosh for the quick update.
Also , i could see the limitation of RP Trust on should be less than 99 and FS servers should be less than 5 in a farm with WID database.
4 FS & 4 WAP and 90+ RP's , can we upgrade it to 4.0 with out any issue ?
or we face any database issue on this ?
How many trust can be used practically ?
Thanks
Renga
Hi Renga,
Since you have 90+ RPs which is approx. upper limit for WID Database RP support. I would suggest you to migrate WID to SQL database first. else it could create performance issue and trouble in scalability.

I believe you will use add and replace method while upgrade. (MS Note: Before you can move to AD FS in Windows Server 2019 FBL, you must remove all of the Windows Server 2016 or 2012 R2 nodes. You cannot just upgrade a Windows Server 2016 or 2012 R2 OS to Windows Server 2019 and have it become a 2019 node. You will need to remove it and replace it with a new 2019 node.)
Truly speaking I have not used this much RPs. You can take the help to below URL to calculate Server requirement.
Hope it will help you.
